Field Report: Packers 27, Jaguars 23

Field Reports are a collection of the day's Packers news, collected from social media. We'll highlight a variety of sources and individuals, including local reporters, players, coaches and fans. Find a post that belongs in a Field Report? Send it to us, or tweet @ThePowerSweep.

The Packers opened up their 2016 season in beautiful Jacksonville, Florida. I'll put the over/under on the percentage of fans attending the game who got a sunburn at 80%.

The two teams helped hold a field-sized flag on the fifteenth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks.

First Quarter

The Packers opened the game on a high note. Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles was intercepted by Packers linebacker Joe Thomas, and Aaron Rodgers did his 'discount double check' celebration after a rushing touchdown.

Second Quarter

Jacksonville refused to let Green Bay roll. The Jaguars matched the Packers score for score. Had it not been for a miraculous Aaron Rodgers to Davante Adams touchdown grab at the conclusion of the quarter, Jacksonville would have taken a lead into halftime.

Third Quarter

As the game wore on, the heat took a toll on both sides. The Packers started a massive nine-plus minute drive that helped secure the time of possession battle.

Fourth Quarter

The afternoon wore on, and the score remained close. The Packers settled for a field goal deep in Jaguars territory. Jacksonville mounted a last-second effort to win the game, but a bubble screen on fourth-and-one was stopped by corner Damarious Randall and linebacker Joe Thomas.

About that last play

The internet exploded with reactions after the Jaguars were unable to convert a fourth-and-one at the end of the game.
