- Pro Football Focus: 71.1/100
Expectations coming into the season: Low
Expectations were: Exceeded
Analysis: Ringo a case study in setting expectations
When we say that Christian Ringo exceeded expectations this year, we need to first define what we mean by saying his expectations were “low.”
Obviously, value statements like “high,” “moderate,” and “low” are going to be relative depending on the player to which they are ascribed. Aaron Rodgers’ low expectations are still pretty high compared to Don Jackson’s. For Ringo, a “low” expectation would be something on the order of “we’re expecting you to make the roster, but not much more.”
And to that end, Ringo was better than expected. Not only did he make the roster, but he was active for seven games, forced a fumble, and participated in one of the most unintentionally hilarious plays of the year.
He may never become the miniature version of Mike Daniels some hoped he’d be, but if that’s not exceeding expectations, I don’t know what is.
