JORDAN LOVE ANY/A TRACKER

The following chart tracks Jordan Love’s Adjusted Net Yards per Attempt (ANY/A) over the course of his career. The black line represents his ANY/A for a given game, while the yellow, and green lines track his ANY/A in rolling four- and eight-game chunks. When he hits that threshold, we’ll add in another line to represent a rolling 17-game ANY/A sample.

WHAT IS ANY/A?

Adjusted Net Yards per Attempt is one of the single most important passing stats in the NFL. In one single metric, it accounts for almost every part of a quarterback’s performance, encapsulating:

  • Yards

  • Touchdowns

  • Interceptions

  • Pass attempts

  • Sacks

Putting each of these stats into a single number gives us an easily digestible number that we can track simply over time.

WHY IS IT WORTH TRACKING?

Tracking ANY/A over time gives us a good look at overall trends in Love’s performance. We tracked Aaron Rodgers’ ANY/A over time and it makes sense to do the same thing for Love. Watching Love’s numbers develop will give us a good sense of what direction he’s going as a player — and whether or not we should be concerned.

Aaron Rodgers ANY/A Tracker

The chart below represents Rodgers’ ANY/A in a similar way to Love’s. The dark green line represents his ANY/A for a given game, while the yellow, light green, and red lines track his ANY/A in rolling four-, eight-, and 16-game chunks.

Key Landmarks

Since this graph sorts by game number and not by season, it can be a little difficult to give context to the peaks and valleys. Here are some of Rodgers’ key seasons and their corresponding game numbers.

2009 - Rodgers’ first Pro Bowl season - Games 24-39

2011 - Rodgers’ first MVP season - Games 55-69

2014 - Rodgers’ second MVP season - Games 95-110

2020 - Rodgers’ third MVP season - Games 241-256

The significant valley present in the middle portion of the graph (roughly Games 121-141) corresponds with the period from around Week 11 of the 2015 season through the end of the 2016 season.
