Looking back at when Reggie White signed with the Packers
Now that the Packers have acquired Micah Parsons, people have started to make the obvious comparisons to Reggie White signing with the Packers in 1993. I understand the urge, but I think it's misguided.
But be that as it may, this is still a fun opportunity to look back at what it was like when the Packers signed White. So here's a stroll through the history books, courtesy of a few of the headlines from 1993.
The first one comes from the Green Bay Press-Gazette. On the morning of April 6, 1993 — the day White actually signed with the Packers — the Press-Gazette thought it was a done deal that White was going to the San Francisco 49ers, who had the richest deal on the table.
