Meet the NFC North Defense

Welcome back to our NFC North Consolidation project, which started as a fun but innocuous question from a reader and definitely hasn’t spiraled to become much larger than I envisioned!

After a couple of weeks off, we’re back to fill out the rest of the roster for the Milwaukee Legion, a totally real professional football team made up entirely of players from the NFC North. We’ve showcased the offense already. Now, who’s going to be stopping teams when we line up on defense?

These guys, that’s who.

Defensive linemen (4)

Starters: Alim McNeil (DET), Gervon Dexter (CHI)

Backups: DJ Reader (DET), Devonte Wyatt (GB)

Analysis: Turns out it’s not just the Packers that have issues on the defensive line: it’s the entire division. I like Alim McNeil and Gervon Dexter a lot, and DJ Reader and Devonte Wyatt are as good of a pair of backups as you could hope for, but I think there are single NFL teams right now that have better defensive line groups than this one, much less entire divisions.
