Mike McCarthy met with the media prior to the Packers’ second practice.
McCarthy: Jared Cook is everything we thought he would be. Big, strong, athletic TE that attacks the middle of the field. Priority for us.
— Green Bay Packers (@packers) July 27, 2016
McCarthy was happy with the number of big plays yesterday (19) but very sour because of the pre-snap penalties (13). Called it "outrageous."
— Michael Cohen (@Michael_Cohen13) July 27, 2016
McCarthy: Drove to practice w/ Shields & Burnett yesterday. Talked about how fast it goes, importance of taking advantage of opportunity.
— Green Bay Packers (@packers) July 27, 2016
McCarthy on Trevor Davis: "Really productive, but it's the details, the fundamentals, the little things, the discipline. Build off that."
— Michael Cohen (@Michael_Cohen13) July 27, 2016
McCarthy: Datone will build off what he did last year. He's earned the opportunity. Thought very productive in his position.
— Tom Silverstein (@TomSilverstein) July 27, 2016
Ideally, MM implies, Peppers might be saved more for pass-rushing snaps, with Datone Jones and Nick Perry in run situations.
— Ryan Wood (@ByRyanWood) July 27, 2016
McCarthy: we are conscious of how many snaps Rodgers is getting with extra week of camp. Now snaps at QB normal, but Hundley will see more.
— Tom Silverstein (@TomSilverstein) July 27, 2016
MM on #Packers QB Brett Hundley's big preseason: "The 5th preseason game, no one is going to benefit more than Brett Hundley. No doubt."

Typical guys catching punts from the jugs machine -- Hyde, Cobb, Trevor Davis. Also getting some reps: Davante Adams and Quinten Rollins.

#Packers CB Sam Shields intercepts Aaron Rodgers' shot play for Jeff Janis. Looked like Janis misplayed ball in midair.
— Ryan Wood (@ByRyanWood) July 27, 2016
I was impressed with quick feet of RB John Crockett during position drills earlier. He just added a nice spin move on a catch in the flat.

Davante Adams with play of #PackersCamp Day 2. Skies to catch underthrown Rodgers pass over Randall, Rollins. Great concentration.

Impressive day at the line of scrimmage for Brett Hundley. He's earned 3 free plays with his hard count. Wonder who he's learning from...

Aaron Rodgers and Jeff Janis with a miscommunication against the blitz. Rodgers threw back shoulder and Janis ran a go route.
— Rob Demovsky (@RobDemovsky) July 27, 2016
Rodgers and Cobb not on same page again. Cobb doesn't read blitz same way and Rodgers surprises him with quick throw that bounces off him.

There are new updates on injuries to Rodgers’ offensive weapons.
Sounds like #Packers TE Jared Cook's stay on PUP will be a short 1. Mike McCarthy spoke of a positive medical report. I'm told precautionary
