Super Bowl Pick - Here we go again
Making a bunch of picks every week is easy. Making one pick is hard.
I do picks the way I do mostly because of my gig at Acme Packing Company, which I do concurrently with writing and podcasting for The Power Sweep. I don’t particularly like picking against the spread; my thoughts on sports gambling are pretty well established at this point (I’m against!) and I don’t like proliferating gambling content, but it’s part of the job so I do it.
Anyway, picking against the spread, picking the winner, and “betting” the over/under every week adds up to several dozen picks a week in the regular season, and after a while they start to wash over you. Without real money on the line (and there never is), it’s hard to get too worked up one way or another about the spread on a random Thursday night game or the over/under for some pointless Week 12 AFC South matchup. Is the AFC South a real division, anyway?
But you can’t hide behind the volume in the playoffs, and you’ve probably noticed this whole postseason dance is just about over. There’s one game left, and here I am overthinking it.
