Week 11 Thoughts - How we lookin'?
I did not plan for this, but these posts have frequently turned to uniforms. Two of the previous three posts have touched on uniforms in some way, and I find myself frequently speaking about them in these posts. I guess the heart wants what it wants.
Anyway, in the spirit of that desire, a listener recently asked me to share my complete uniform rankings for the year so far. As you know, I do a uniform review after every Packers game, granting the game a score on a 20-point scale based on four factors: how the Packers look, how their opponent looks, how the two uniforms look together, and miscellaneous factors that affect the look of the game (weather, playing on turf vs. grass, day vs. night, etc.). Each factor gets a score from 1 to 5, and I total it up to give the score out of 20.
So far, the best game of the year is the Packers’ Week 4 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys. I scored this game a 17.5 out of 20, so there’s clearly some room for better-looking games ahead. But I rated the Packers’ look in this one (their standard home uniform) highly and gave the Cowboys a middling grade. The teams looked great together, I thought, and the overall vibe of the game was excellent. Here’s a shot if you’ve forgotten how great it looked.
