716 - Let's Talk Romeo Doubs and Joe Barry
The Packers have been much improved over the past month, and a big part of that improvement has come from guys who have previously been pretty polarizing.
New Guys and Lukas Van Ness (00:20)
The Packers have added cornerback David Long (who we got to talk about in this episode) and Kenyan Drake (who we didn’t because the move was announced after we recorded). Lukas Van Ness also passed a significant milestone recently, so we take that opportunity to reflect on his rookie season so far.
The Rise of Romeo Doubs (7:51)
Over the past month, the Packers' offense has shown significant improvement, and a large part of that improvement can be attributed to wide receiver Romeo Doubs. Despite an inefficient start to the season, Doubs has stepped up and performed admirably. Over the past five weeks, he has improved his catch rate, average yards per catch, and yards per target.
Joe Barry's Impact on the Defense (18:52)
Another key factor in the Packers' recent success is the performance of their defense, led by coordinator Joe Barry. The defense has displayed substantial improvement, particularly in crucial games. Over the past five weeks, the Packers have allowed an average of just 17.4 points per game, holding opponents to 20 or fewer points on multiple occasions.
