Week 6 Picks - Knowing desperation when you see it
I usually don’t weigh in much on other teams in my NFL writing, and that’s for a few carefully chosen reasons.
First, I don’t really care. What goes on with the inner workings of other teams rarely affects the Packers, and until it does it’s hard for me to want to pay any attention to it.
The second is that it’s hard to have a meaningful opinion about what goes on with teams I don’t follow. One of the best things about covering the Packers closely is becoming intimately familiar with how the team operates, what they usually do and don’t do, how they acquire players, and so on. Franchises really do have personalities all their own, and if you don’t have a grasp on those personalities, your takes might not make much sense, and they almost certainly won’t have as firm of a grounding as someone who knows a team thoroughly.
But the Robert Saleh firing is so compelling that I can’t help but think out loud about it.
