Earlier this week, we briefly explored the possibility that Aaron Rodgers' career is very likely closer to the end than to the beginning. Though it may not be quite as scary to think about, I think it's important to realize that the same may be true for the architects of the Packers' on-field success, Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy. 

At some point, Aaron Rodgers will be old. Today is not that day, but we're standing at the precipice of the season in which Aaron Rodgers will turn 31 years old.

Writing voluminous amounts of words about a guy who hasn't played a down yet in the NFL seems to be the thing to do this week, so who am I to judge? Here are my thoughts on Colt Lyerla.

"When they gave me that number, I saw shocked. Charles Woodson is one of the best. I'm just honored."

As is our custom, The Packer Perspective does not hand out draft grades. At least, not based on the results of draft weekend alone. We only hand out grades based on production on the field, and that evaluation only comes five years after a class is drafted.

Horror of horrors, the Packers gave somebody else the number 80.

Here's some piping hot analysis for you: the Packers drafted three times as many wide receivers this weekend as any other position. Davante Adams, Jared Abbrederis, and Jeff Janis are all aboard and ready to catch passes and do whatever else it is that wide receivers do in their free time.

In a way, I suppose it's a good thing that I can't put this weekend's draft and subsequent acquisition of undrafted free agents into a neat little box, like, say, assigning the Packers a letter grade for their performance. It's hard to evaluate a thing that just happened based on how it could play out in the future. Obviously, there's a ways to go for this group of guys.

In the end, there was no trade up, there was no C.J. Mosely, there was no defensive lineman popping up out of the blue.
